Literature Text

"There's always tomorrow."
In frustration, it's what we say
Things unfinished, and hearts undone
We'll get another day

But, there may not be tomorrow
You see, it's just a lie
Beaten down, it feels much better
To think we'll never die

Die we do, and die we will
Just think of all the sorrow
Because we didn't make amends
We thought there was tomorrow

We didn't hug and kiss
Nor, give a loving gesture
Curt hellos, fleeting goodbyes
Pain left is sure to fester

Let us slow down, look around
Rediscover what's important
Rekindle friendships, family bonds
And heal the ties once broken

To say hello, I love you so
And shed our needed tears
To get things done, accomplish goals
To face and conquer fears

Don't save the best you have to offer
For another day
There may not be tomorrow
We might only have today
